Rudger van Wyk was a Cape Winemakers Guild protege and at the time he worked with Abrie Beeslaar at Kanonkop. He is now at Stark-Conde and was appointed Diner's Club, Young Winemaker of the year, 2018. He and Jose Conde are creating award winning wines just outside Stellenbosch, in Jonkershoek Valley.

Dr Astrid Buica and her colleagues are doing intriguing research on sensory perception, chemical profiling and thiols in red and white wines. With their extensive research they are eliminating guess work and can bring facts to the table. A fascinating discussion to listen to for wine professionals.
