I chat to Marinda Kruger-Claassen, Winemaker and Business Manager at Elgin Vintners. Combining science, her creativity and wine making experiences in South Africa and France to guide her into making wines that are true to the terroir. Elgin is a cooler climate appellation close to the ocean and the wines have a slight minerality, with great fruit character.

Chenin Blanc thrives in South Africa and has become one of our best varietals to showcase to the world as to what our winemakers are capable of. The Chenin Blanc Association works closely with Chenin Blanc producers to promote this humble grape. Ina Smith is at the helm of this organisation and has made huge strides to promote Chenin Blanc.

I chat to Tyrrel and Anette Myburgh, from Joostenberg Winery in Paarl. Farming and winemaking are organic and traditional. Here they stay true to the terroir in winemaking.
